A wet Saturday.

Yes rather wet on Saturday & of course not really keen to do housework or garden or ironing etc etc. So out to my workshop for inspiration & there sat my bag of bits. Feltmakers always have bags of bits & the bits in mine include not just fibres but also yarns spun by my fellow feltees, silk threads, locks, ribbon etc.

I wanted a small project, one that would be finished quickly, not take too much rolling as my shoulder is a bit stiff. I had made a few embroidered "inchies" a couple of years ago & they were such simple designs but so eye catching. Thus, I set to & made a few small felt pieces and added some embellishments & embroidery. Now what was I going to do with these? Yes, cute cards? & here are the results.

AUGUST CRAFT MONTH

I have a few items that I have created for this exhibition and hope you will come to see some of the diversity in felting. And of course to support me and my fellow feltees.

PENNY

After Meanie I decided to make a fantasy
puffer  fish! This is my second one. I used a
combination of wet and needle felting to
create the curls. I love the finished piece,
so bright & funky.

MEANIE!

I was attempting to design a monster with warts using multiple resists and felted balls. Unfortunately  this didn't quite work & so I decided a bit of embroidery would suffice. So together with some eye lashes and a few curls he really doesn't appear too monstrous now.
